A room full of smart people doesn’t guarantee a smart decision. Usually it just guarantees a longer meeting.
Leadership teams rarely suffer from a lack of experience, expertise, or opinions. The trouble happens once everyone starts talking. Important information gets filtered. Confident voices carry more weight. Disagreements get avoided or turned into a never-ending debate. Then the meeting ends with a lot of nodding, and everyone to walks away with a different idea about what was decided.
The quality of the conversation determines the quality of the decision. Leaders need to recognize what information is receiving attention, surface assumptions before they harden into conclusions, and use disagreement to strengthen the decision rather than stall it.
In this interactive session, participants will explore how Listening Intelligence, influence, and conflict shape leadership conversations. They’ll examine what they naturally listen for, what they may be missing, and how different perspectives can be used more productively. They’ll also practice moving a conversation from competing opinions to a decision people understand and can act on.
